April serves as a Regional Supervisor for Alpha Barnes. In her role, she manages, directs and implements strategies to ensure the successful achievement of operational efficiencies and profitability for clients and their assets. April offers her clients expertise in a diverse collection of management activities including resident relations, vendor management, lease compliance, and contract negotiation. She directly supervises the activities of all property managers and regional office staff for a portfolio of properties targeting positive financial results. Ms. Lopez supervises 8 assets, totaling almost 1,300 units comprised of Low Income Housing Tax (LIHTC) housing, Senior and conventional properties.
April began her property management career in 2001 as a Tax Credit Compliance Officer for a third-party management firm. In this role and her subsequent larger capacity, Ms. Lopez was responsible for ensuring TDHCA compliance including due diligence and ongoing certification approval and audit corrections for hundreds of tax credit units. In 2008 she took a position as an Area Manager responsible for the oversight and direction of 7 properties totaling over 1,700 units. She joined Alpha Barnes in September 2018.
April maintains her industry expertise through training and programing offered by the Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs.
